Do NOTHING and ROLL

How we’re BUILT… along with our genetics, daily wear and tear…CHANGES over time and NOT for the better. ;) And what I’m talking about is our body’s structure and all its components…bones, muscles, and connective tissue.

As our body tightens and stiffens up…basic daily functioning like sitting, standing, and walking are gonna be compromised and limited.

And how about the risk of falling as we age? It’s a real thing! And it absolutely increases in likelihood with a body that struggles to move well.

So, what I want to share with you today is a roll that teaches our body to move with MINIMAL TENSION…which is the FIRST STEP in moving and feeling better.

Here’s what you’re gonna need:

-Comfortable/Quiet space

-Something for your head and neck

-Foam Roller

Check out my video below. Sound ON!  🔊

🫁 BREATHING SEQUENCE:

🌬️OPEN MOUTH EXHALE to get rid of some stale air and help us settle in.

-QUIET…SLOW NASAL ONLY breathing throughout.

What you’re gonna do as DEMONSTRATED:

-Lie on your RIGHT SIDE

-Place your foam roller between your legs

-HIPS and KNEES below your waist

-ARMS straight out in front of your chest atop one another

🛼ROLL SLOWLY:

-Start the roll by moving your TOP ARM along the bottom arm…then across your shoulder and chest

-As you TURN BACKWARDS, think about moving one segment at a time.

-CHEST moves next

-Then your MIDDLE BACK followed by your LOWER BACK

-HIPS and TOP KNEE move backwards as far as you can. (You’ll when THE TOP LEG STOPS MOVING!)

🔑RIGHT KNEE and ARM remain grounded throughout the roll

☝️DON’T OVER-ROTATE!

-Reverse the sequence on the WAY BACK:

TOP KNEE, HIPS, LOWER, MIDDLE, UPPER BACK, then the TOP ARM.

✔️ROLL BACK: move your left arm first. ROLL FORWARD: move your left leg first.

🔥When you get it right, it should feel like you’re doing NOTHING!

Practice DAILY: 2-5 minutes/RIGHT SIDE ONLY.

Now stand up…go for a walk. How do you feel? Looser? “Lighter,” maybe?

💡 REMEMBER…REAL CHANGE requires an investment of time, effort, and consistency in doing what’s necessary:)

Dedicated to your health and longevity,

Mike
