What’s Hard Work? 🤔

Does the INTENSITY of our workouts equal the results? Our bodies are insanely adaptable and capable of amazing things...but we need to build up to being able to do what we want, especially as we age. I know I’ve said it before, but I’m gonna say it again, PROGRESS is EARNED folks!

Because there’s no inherently dangerous exercises… Too much, too soon, too fast ALWAYS ends the same...with UNPREPARED bodies. At issue is the belief that the INTENSITY of the workout determines the RESULTS.

- The longer or harder workout

- Counting the calories burned

- Bouncing around from one exercise to the next

- Beating yourself up

- Finishing in a puddle of sweat totally exhausted

And just so you know, all of the above listed items are NOT proof of a hard workout...Sorry:(

We do use a higher percentage of fat post high-intensity workout, which is a nice benefit for sure. But that doesn’t mean training all-out, all the time, is the best way to maximize that benefit. You can also compromise progression and sacrifice every other benefit of strength training...

- Improvement of strength and endurance

- Muscle and movement quality

- And, your ability to do stuff OUTSIDE the gym...all sustainable results for life!

The simple truth is… The harder the workout, the higherthe risk of injury or burnout. Which can take you out of the game entirely.

Moving with mindful intention...with or without weights, will not only help you move and feel better, but CHANGE THE NARRATIVE about what a workout should look and feel like. Together, we can IMPROVE your muscle and movement quality so you can be stronger to do the things you want to do and love.
