Hella STIFF? Try This!

Moving and feeling better as we age STARTS with us moving with as LITTLE TENSION as possible!

 

And if you’re in the “HELLA STIFF” camp, like me…meaning, we’re just tight and stiff…ALL OVER…it hurts and limits our capabilities in our day-to-day activities.


The rolling exercise I have for you today provides us with the ability to maintain and restore what I like to call our “HONEST” mobility and functionality…specifically throughout our ribcage.

 

Try this progression FIRST:

Here’s what you’re gonna need:

-Clear/Comfortable/Quiet space

-Something for your head and neck

-Foam Roller

🫁 BREATHING SEQUENCE

🌬️FULL MOUTH EXHALE at the start to get rid of some stale air.

-SLOW NASAL ONLY breathing as you roll

-MOVELAZYHEAVY, and SLOW.

 

Here’s what you’re gonna do as DEMONSTRATED:

-Start by lying on your RIGHT SIDE

-LEGS STACKED upon one another 

-TOP ARM resting on a foam roller

-LOG ROLL your body: NOSECHEST, and ZIPPER in one line

-TOP SHOULDER as relaxed as possible on the foam roller

 

👃NASAL BREATH throughout this sequence!

 

DAILY PRACTICE: 2-5 minutes/SIDE 

Stand up. Try it on. Move around in different directions. Notice how you feel…any different? Looser…lighter, perhaps?

 

💡 REMEMBER…if we want to move and feel better as we age, we need to reset our bodies with a SMARTDAILY PRACTICEREAL CHANGE only happens with time and consistency.
