Improving our hip mobility can be one of the biggest game-changers for moving and feeling better. And, as always, it’s NEVER a “ONE SIZE FITS ALL” approach.
We all want to be able to move and feel better to do all the things we want to do. Right? If you said yes…read on!
The MOST COMMON constraint that I see daily with my clients is that they are…like me on some days…just “HELLA STIFF” (@ZacCupples, 2024). Meaning, we’re just stiff EVERYWHERE!
Here’s a new roll I’ve been playing with lately…but BEFORE YOU TRY IT Start with my “LAZY SUMMER ROLL” for approximately 2-4 weeks or until you feel confident with your technique.
Today’s roll is about moving our entire body differently. Check it out!
Here’s what you’re gonna need:
-Clear/Comfortable/Quiet space
-Something for your head and neck
Watch my video below. 🔊 Sound ON!
Here’s what you’re gonna do as DEMONSTRATED:
-Lie on your SIDE
-ARMS STACKED UPON ONE ANOTHER, STRAIGHT OUT in FRONT of you
-LEGS STACKED UPON ONE ANOTHER. KNEES BELOW HIPS.
☝️Try to keep your FOOT CONTACTS (Inner heel/Big Toe base) together best you can during the roll.
-LOG ROLL your ENTIRE BODY:
✔️Initiate by lifting your KNEE UP
✔️Sliding your TOP ARM across your CHEST
✔️FLOP to the OPPOSITE SIDE
✔️Go BACK and FORTH
Breathing:
🌬️FULL MOUTH EXHALE at the start to get rid of some stale air
-SLOW NASAL ONLY breathing as you roll
-MOVE: LAZY, HEAVY, and SLOW.
PRACTICE: 5 minutes continuously DAILY
Stand up. Try it on. Move around in different directions. Notice how you feel…any different?
💡REMEMBER…if we want to move and feel better as we age, we need to INTELLIGENTLY RESET our bodies with DAILY PRACTICE.
Dedicated to your health and longevity,
Mike
