Body Opening Roll

As we age, NOT addressing our posture becomes more and more limiting. And as a result, our comfort level and day-to-day movement can be negatively impacted.
Because of the wear and tear associated with all that, mobility issues that I find most commonly affect my folks, are those who struggle with being either, “hella stiff” [like me;)]…crazy arched…slouched, or just feel lopsided in their body.
So, what I have for you today is a strategy that has been successful for those who struggle with all the above.
🔑 PRO TIP: Before moving on with today’s strategy, I recommend you train this Sidelying Breathing and Body Opener version for approximately 2-4 weeks FIRST.

Here’s what you’re gonna need:
-Clear/Comfortable/Quiet space
-Something for your head/neck

Here’s what you’re gonna do as DEMONSTRATED:
-Lie on your RIGHT SIDE. Head and neck comfortable.
-LEGS STACKED upon one another. KNEES below HIPS.
-Place your bottom RIGHT ARM on the ground. Elbow soft.
-Place your top LEFT ARM across your chest and GENTLY GRASP and TUG on your RIGHT COLLAR BONE.
-OPEN MOUTH EXHALE to get rid of some stale air and help you settle in.
The ROLL:
-SILENTLY NASAL INHALE as you roll your head and torso COMFORTABLY backwards
💥 You should NOT feel any discomfort through your low back!
-OPEN MOUTH SIGHING EXHALE as you return to the starting position.
PRACTICE: 3-5 minutes DAILY
Notice how you move and feel afterward. Better? Same? Different?
REMEMBER…REAL CHANGE requires an investment of our time, effort, and consistency in doing what’s necessary…not just what’s appealing. And as we get older, we want to train SMARTER, not harder. ;)
