NOT your EVERYDAY ROLL

Here’s something I do EVERYDAY… and you can too! It will not only loosen up your body but help you relax as well.

I like to do this “move” either first thing in the morning before I actually get moving and/or before bedtime, to help me “shift gears” and relax a bit.

A LOT of us have difficulty regulating our nervous system for one reason or another…it doesn’t matter why…we just get stuck in “FIGHT or FLIGHT” mode. And to successfully REDUCE TENSION…to relax and decompress…requires our undivided attention to what we’re doing.

So, this practice should be performed in a QUIET SPACE that is as free of distractions as possible (phone, tv, kids, responsibilities, etc.)

Think about this as a practice that gives our brain and body a feeling of SAFETY. And when we feel safe, we can let our guard down so our bodies and brains can just relax…getting out of the feeling of being constantly on guard or in "fight or flight" mode.

Here’s what you’re gonna need:

-Quiet/Clear/Comfortable space

-Something for your head a neck

Here’s what you’re gonna do:

-Lie on your side

-UNDERSIDE ARM/LEG: BELOW 90 degrees

-TOP ARM/LEG: ROLL your WHOLE BODY forward like a log

💡You’re gonna WEIGHT BEAR on 2 points:

✔️UNDERSIDE/OUTSIDE ELBOW/KNEE

-Hold this position as demonstrated and breathe:

🫁 Quiet NASAL INHALE.

- SOFT OPEN MOUTH EXHALE and get “HEAVY” between those 2 points and maintain it!

-Practice: 1-2rds x 5-7 breaths/each side x 1-2x DAILY Notice how you move and feel afterward. Lighter? Looser? Any different?

Practice DAILY as part of your EVERYDAY routine and enjoy feeling better afterward!

Dedicated to your health and longevity,

Mike
